This is our 53rd episode, and we’re finally sharing Natalie’s vast knowledge of soda, pop, coke, fizzfizz, bupples, glunk, diet bupples, or whatever you want to call the non-alcoholic flavored drinks you put in your mouth. There are MULTIPLE quizzes, and Drew shares his theory about why fish are aliens. It goes deeper than you’d think.

Did you hear our last episode, about knives? If not, you’re gonna wanna subscribe, because half of our episodes are only for subscribers. Here’s how to do that:
Contribute your own knowledge of pop with us in the comments section. Have you had any of the weird pop flavors from the quiz, or do you have any insider information? Share it with us here.
You can also listen to Garbage Brain University on Spotify, iTunes, and/or Stitcher if you don’t already. Thanks again to Substack for our podcast/newsletter setup, and to The Melvins for our theme song, “Electric Flower,” used with permission.

Re: Beverly
You can try it at the Coca-Cola museum in Atlanta (along with every type of soda they make in the entire world) as well as the France pavilion at Epcot in Orlando.
It’s disgusting on its own, tolerable with alcohol... as long as you like grapefruit.
Okay, so, since this episode featured a long, complicated tangent, please hear me out on this one, I'm going to try to connect some dots with Achewood, soda, and GBU.
- Drew tweeted recently about Ray Smuckles, so Drew appears to be an Achewood fan.

- In an earlier episode, Drew said "being in trouble is a fake idea" which I think is a reference to this classic Achewood, right? http://achewood.com/?date=01272005
- In that strip, Ray's first epiphany is about... COCA COLA!
- After stopping Achewood, Chris Onstad started a gourmet soda company: https://pdx.eater.com/2015/4/30/8517371/chris-onstad-talks-sodas-portland-tastemakers
Of course these breakthroughs only lead to more questions:
Natalie: are you also an Achewood fan?
Have you guys hung out with Onstad? He seems like he'd be a cool special guest, to talk about comics, or soda, or having epiphanies while high.
What other webcomics do you like, either active or defunct?
and thanks for all the great episodes so far!
